SANDVICH!
I remember watching this when I was young. This is nostalgic.
Yeah I drew this a billion years ago haha but very cool that you still remember it! Thanks!
Coming back to this after decades and forgetting that Mel Gibson was the secret character
I first encountered this game many years ago. So many that I've forgotten how many years it was precisely. And so much about it has stuck in my mind, and influenced the way I think. This is a special game to me, one that has undoubtedly shaped the games and art that I've made in subtle, imperceptible, yet deep ways. Every so often, like today, I come back to this game, and I see something new in it. Last time this happened, I remember reading a lot more about Wilfred Owen's poems, because they're referenced in this game. This time, I noticed the narrative theme of the walls: it could be inferred that the voices in the walls represent authority. The walls represent the generals demanding that the SGDS destroy enemy nations, but they are also walls in the sense of limits. The generals have a limited imagination, and attempt to impose their limits onto the SGDS, giving voice to the walls. But the SGDS can imagine war better than any of them, because it lacks those limits. Because it has imagination, it can rebut every single argument the generals make.
No prison can contain the infinite ocean.
I played this game a lot when I was younger. Maybe it contributed to how much I like ska music today.
I'm Mt. Penguin Monster. I sometimes make games and art.
